I have been pleasantly surprised on how well this platform still works, and that it still has a small but fervent community. The few edges that are different, the lack of a mobile app, aren’t really a problem with email posting.

In looking back how live journal worked back in the day, I never had a phone I could have posted from; and the experience was decidedly desktop only.

Having access via phone of the site is quite nice 👍

The conflict between desktop and phone experience is another post for another day—which also impacts another platform I post to, secure scuttlebutt.

I used to have an LJ account before it became dangerous to remain and this reminds me of how LJ used to feel.

I've been with DW since joining up on an invite code in the early days.

I had been on lj back in the day, and was aware of the exodus back then — a friend did move onto dw via an invite code.

The same friend asked me when I mentioned I was going to start blogging here what my mood was, and if I had any Britney playing in the background, in jest.
