Glacier Glasses
Feb. 6th, 2023 05:47 pmManaged to find a set of glacier glasses for sailing. I, of blue eyed fame, can get a bit of a headache after a day out on the water with the sun&sun reflected on water illumination.
Arriving in a week, they are the https://www.bolle.com/us/sunglasses/performance/performance-sunglasses/cobalt-1233.html with photochromatic lenses, non polarized so I can still read my chart plotter.
The trick I do for buying sunglasses is to select the lens first, then see what's available in frames. In this case, it was their Phantom line, that provides cat 2 to cat 4 light transmission. Cat 4 is extremely dark, not recommended for driving. The next is the non polarized, since the polarize in the sunglasses interacts with the polarizer in the lcd screen on my instruments. Look at it the wrong way and the display looks black...
